Background
Dragoon Rage started off as a simple sketch of a dragon in an old sketch book. The stick dragon on the last panel of the first issue was a reference for the actual dragon seen on that page. After doodling the dragon, Alex amused himself by trying to turn the picture into an action scene, where the unfortunate Drake ended up on the receiving end of the flame. Soon enough Alex had found himself sketching in an "explanation" to how Drake ended up in that predicament, which led to the imminent birthing of Dragoon Rage.
Initially, Dragoon Rage was meant to be a one time comic - a draw-n-scrap project; however after receiving plenty of positive feedback and encouragement to continue this endeavor, Alex decided to continue. With a partially empty sketch book, and seemingly limitless opportunities for adventure, the dynamic duo found themselves running (or being dragged) into the greatest adventure in their lives.
Plot
In the beginning, there really was no preset plot or skeleton made for the story to follow. Dragoon Rage went to whatever amused Alex the most, and ended up being surprisingly coherently put together. Doing it this way, Dragoon Rage suddenly felt more like a graphical recording of his own adventures within his fantasy world. Likewise, the comic also fed off of the emotional state of its creator, which resulted in an occasionally darker environment as the story progressed.
